What are the benefits of SoundMat 3 Plus over Standard Mats

We are often asked about the difference between our competitors mats and our best selling SoundMat 3 Plus .

Both products use the same high mass material on the top and bottom (mass loaded vinyl) so the airborne performance is identical, however it is the middle foam layer which is where the
SoundMat 3 Plus offers the biggest improvement over our competitors.

  • Standard mats use a recycled chip foam (a combination of recycled materials), which due to their recycled nature have inconsistencies in performance. e.g. certain parts are harder than others and certain sections are softer, also they are prone to small gaps and inconsistencies, resulting in different impact performances in different areas of the mats.
  • SoundMat 3 Plus uses a manufactured closed cell, high load foam which offers a uniform performance across the whole soundproofing mat.
  • The closed cell foam in the SoundMat 3 Plus will not absorb water. This can be a big benefit in case of any water damage to the floor in the future.
  • Price for SoundMat 3 Plus can be up to 10% cheaper per m2

To block airborne noise, heavy, dense materials like FlexiSound and Acoustic Plasterboard are added. For optimal soundproofing of a solid brick party wall, the ReductoClip Independent Wall System offers a outstanding solution, combining key soundproofing elements for maximum noise reduction.
