What are the benefits of SoundMat 3 Plus over JCW's ImpactaLay 15mm

We are often asked about the difference between JCW's ImpactaLay 15mm and our best selling SoundMat 3 Plus.

Both products use the same high mass material on the top and bottom (mass loaded vinyl), so the airborne performance is identical. However, it is the middle foam layer which is where the SoundMat 3 Plus offers the biggest improvement overImpactaLay 15mm.

• ImpactaLay 15mmuses a re-cycled chip foam (a combination of recycled materials), which due to its recycled nature has inconsistencies in its performance (i.e certain parts are harder than others and certain sections are softer, and is prone to small gapsand inconsistencies, resulting in different impact performances in different areas of the mats)

• The SoundMat 3 Plus uses a manufactured closed cell, high load foam which offers a uniform performance across the whole soundproofing mat.
  
• Because the foam is closed cell this will not absorb water. This can be a big benefit in case of any water damage to the floor in the future.
  
• Price for SoundMat 3 plus are up to 10% cheaper per m2
